Myfxbook alternative: it tells you what happened, never why

Prices and features as published, August 2026. Last checked 21 August 2026; next check due 21 November 2026.

The short version. Myfxbook reports. It does not review.

Myfxbook is free, enormous, and genuinely useful for what it does: publishing a verified track record and tracking a live account. It is not a journal, and no amount of using it will make it one.

Link an account and Myfxbook will show you your equity curve, your drawdown, your win rate and your monthly returns. What it will never show you is why March was bad — because it has no idea why you took any of those trades. There is no place to write down what the setup was, no place to tag the mistake, no screenshot of the chart at entry, and no planned risk to turn results into R-multiples.

That gap is the entire reason to keep a journal. A spreadsheet of outcomes tells you March lost money. A journal tells you March lost money because you moved your stop on eleven trades, and that those eleven cost more than your best week made.

There is also a privacy dimension people notice late. Myfxbook works by linking your live account with an investor password, and profiles are public by default. That is deliberate — the whole site is built on verified public track records — but it means your trading history sits on someone else’s server, visible, attached to an account.

What Myfxbook does better than TapeSheet

This section exists on every page in this cluster and it is never empty. If you are reading a comparison that has no such section, you are reading an advert.

  • Reach and community. Myfxbook has an audience we will not have for years: forums, a well-used economic calendar, and a community that answers questions. If community is what you want, this comparison is not close.
  • Live tracking. A linked account updates continuously. TapeSheet works from a file you export, so it is a batch tool by design — better for a monthly review, worse for watching today.
  • Verified public track records. The verified badge is the product for many Myfxbook users, and it is a real thing to want if you are selling a signal or applying to a prop firm. A client-side tool structurally cannot offer it: a track record nobody can independently verify is not a track record.
  • AutoTrade and the wider ecosystem. Copy trading, broker comparison, a full calendar. Myfxbook is a portal; we are one tool.

Who should pick which

Pick Myfxbook

You want a public verified track record, continuous live tracking, or the community and calendar — and you are content for your trading history to be hosted and public.

Pick TapeSheet

You want to record why you took the trade and find out what your habits cost, or you would rather your trading history did not sit on a server at all.

These are not really the same product, and the honest recommendation is that plenty of people should use both: Myfxbook for the public record and the calendar, TapeSheet for the review. Nothing stops you, and there is no account to juggle on our side.

Questions

Does TapeSheet link to my account like Myfxbook does?

No, deliberately. Linking requires an investor password and a server to hold it, and having neither is the point. You export a statement from your terminal and drop it on the page; the file is parsed in the tab and never uploaded.

Can I get a verified track record from TapeSheet?

No. Verification means a third party attesting to numbers they observed independently, which requires exactly the server-side account link we do not have. If you need a verified record, Myfxbook is the right tool and we will not pretend otherwise.

Is a shareable report coming?

A read-only shareable report is on the roadmap, carrying computed metrics only and never raw trades. It will be explicit and per-report, because sharing is the one action that sends anything off your device.

Where these facts come from

  • myfxbook.com public feature and account-linking documentation, checked August 2026
  • Our competitor research note on Myfxbook’s journaling gap, August 2026

Checked 21 August 2026, re-checked quarterly. Prices and features change; if something on this page is out of date or wrong, tell us and it gets corrected. There are no affiliate links on this page or anywhere in this cluster — see how this site makes money. We are not linking to Myfxbook at all, in either direction: this site makes zero requests to any third party, which is a rule we would rather keep than break for a citation.

Try ours before you pay for anything

Drop an MT4 or MT5 statement on the page. Full dashboard in about three seconds, no signup, no upload — the file is parsed inside your browser tab and never leaves your device. If it does not read your broker’s file, you have lost thirty seconds.
