What GST is, and what it does to your session times
GST is UTC+4 all year, with no daylight saving.
The GST trading day, week and year
Dubai sits at UTC+4 with no daylight saving, which places it in the middle of the trading day rather than at either end. The daily candle closes at 02:00 GST through the American winter and 01:00 GST through the American summer; in 2026 the change happened on 8 March and reverses on 1 November. The forex week opens at the same hour on a Monday morning, because the week begins at 17:00 New York time on Sunday.
London opens at 12:00 GST in the European winter and 11:00 GST from 29 March to 25 October 2026, and New York at 17:00 or 16:00 GST, so a Dubai working day covers the whole London morning and the start of the London and New York overlap. Tokyo opens at 04:00 GST all year and Sydney at 01:00 or 02:00, so the Asian session runs through the Dubai night.
The Dubai Financial Market trades continuously from 10:00 to 14:45 Dubai time, with a pre-opening from 09:30 and a pre-closing session that runs to 15:00, so the Dubai equity session runs alongside the London morning and has closed before New York opens. The busiest forex hours of the day, the London and New York overlap, fall entirely after it.
A Dubai working day from 09:00 to 17:00 takes in the tail of Sydney, which closes at 10:00 or 11:00 GST, the second half of Tokyo, which closes at 13:00, and London from 12:00 or 11:00; in the northern summer it reaches the New York open at 16:00 as well. The forex week closes in the small hours of Saturday, at 02:00 or 01:00 GST, and reopens at the same hour early on Monday.
For a trader in Dubai the scheduled American data at 08:30 New York time lands at 17:30 in the northern winter and 16:30 in the northern summer, right at the end of the working day, and the NYSE opens an hour after it.

The week's fixed events in GST
Dubai's afternoon and evening take the European and American events. The Bank of England's decision is 16:00 in January and 15:00 in July, the US jobs report 17:30 or 16:30, the London fix 20:00 or 19:00, and the Federal Reserve 23:00 or 22:00. Australian data arrives before dawn, at 04:30 or 05:30, and the Reserve Bank of Australia at 07:30 or 08:30 in the Dubai morning.
